Biography
Peggy grew up in the Brentwood neighborhood of Los Angeles, graduated from Berkeley, worked in DC, and ultimately landed in Severna Park. She raised a family, held many educational roles (teacher, administrator, MD education official) and spent a great deal of her life committed to the community in Anne Arundel County. Peggy brought to the game her “love of life” style; she was irrepressible. Her life was filled with a vast array of interests and accomplishments – political activist, potter, teacher, academic, professional, synagogue, fine scotch, and, oh yes tennis.
For many years Peggy was a team captain/coordinator of USTA Leagues. She welcomed newcomers and expanded the game at the grassroots level. In 2013, she received the Pam Shriver Award for Outstanding Contributions to the Game of Tennis in Maryland from the USTA Maryland District.
Her contribution to the early years of the Tennis Alliance, to AATS, and to the Anne Arundel County tennis community was invaluable. She was a founding board member of the Tennis Alliance, a board member of AATS (Annapolis Area Tennis School), an active player, and loved by all who knew her and her endless energy and gumption.
