Biography

Michele started playing tennis at 15 and took a summer job teaching the basics. Thirty years later she had a special experience. “Not many recreational players get the opportunity to play on 2 stadium courts at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. I was a new 3.0 and it was an age tournament, and I played 45s against a 4.0 gal out of Atlanta. They assigned our match to the Grandstand stadium court. My opponent had one spectator – just like me. The match lasted 3 grueling sets, but I came out the winner. Next, I got to play on Armstrong Stadium Court against a 5.0 teaching pro and got clobbered, but it was great experience.”
